SAIRI FORSMAN Danish-Mexican sculptor, born in Mexico City, 1964. Lived in Paris (1983-1985), worked and studied modeling with american painter Jane Schranowska. Moved to Denmark (1985-1987), worked in a cellar a series of expressionistic sculptures. Moved back to Mexico and got her first one-man show at the National University in Mexico City (1987). Lived in Mexico City until 1996 where her work was commissioned for various public spaces and was featured in Artes de Mexico magazine. In 1993 was awarded the Nordic Art Center artist residence fellowship in Sveaborg, Finland where she lived for half a year. Worked in San Jose, Costa Rica and in Santiago, Chile (1996-1999). Moved to California (1999-2004). Currently she resides in Florida. She has participated in individual and collective exhibitions in Mexico City, San Miguel Allende, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta and San Antonio. |
